Teen Stabbed to Death in Mangolpuri; Forensic Probe Underway, Four Apprehended
A 16-year-old boy was stabbed to death allegedly by a group of youths in outer Delhi’s Mangolpuri area on Monday, police said. The victim, a Class X student of a government school, was rushed to a hospital after the attack, where doctors declared him dead.
Police said information about the incident was received at around 1.09 pm, following which a crime team and forensic experts were dispatched to the spot.
Incident Details
The teenager, who lived with his family in Mangolpuri, had gone to school earlier in the day to collect his examination date sheet. According to family members, around noon another student rushed to their house and informed them that the boy had been stabbed.
Relatives said that after leaving school, the boy went to eat chole bhature near the school premises, where the attack allegedly took place. He was reportedly beaten up and then stabbed by a group of youths.
“It could not have been the work of just one person. It seems six or seven people were involved,” a relative said. The family, however, denied any knowledge of disputes or enmity that could have led to the attack.
Police and Forensic Action
Police confirmed that a murder case has been registered and four boys have been apprehended in connection with the incident. Investigators are probing whether personal enmity was the motive behind the attack.
A forensic team examined the crime scene and collected material evidence. The victim’s body was sent for a medico-legal post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death and the nature of injuries.
