Every year, candidates lose their seat — not because they failed the paper — but because they didn't follow the rules. The FACT 2026 brochure published by NFSU (Delhi Campus) contains a dense set of instructions buried across multiple pages. We've read every word of it and distilled it into 20 clear, actionable rules so you don't miss a thing.

The Do's — 8 Things You Must Do
01
Apply early — well before the May 10 deadline
The brochure explicitly warns candidates about last-minute rushes. NFSU bears no responsibility for network failures or technical issues if you wait too long. The portal opens from 7 April 2026.
✔ Do This
02
Enter your name exactly as it appears on your Class 10 marksheet
Your name and parents' names in the application must match your Matriculation (Xth Board) Certificate exactly. Any mismatch can create problems during certificate verification. Married women may submit an undertaking for name changes.
✔ Do This
03
Verify your eligibility before you apply — not after
Successful payment and e-admit card generation does NOT mean your candidature is accepted. NFSU can cancel you at any stage if eligibility is found lacking, even after results are declared.
✔ Do This
04
Save your Registration Number safely after applying
After successful online submission, a Registration Number is sent over email. You'll need it to download your e-Admit Card. Keep a printout of your filled application form as well.
✔ Do This
05
Carry both your e-Admit Card printout AND a photo identity card on exam day
The brochure makes both mandatory. No candidate is allowed entry without an NFSU-issued admit card. No duplicate e-admit cards will be issued at the exam centre — download and print it in advance.
✔ Do This
06
Attempt all 120 questions — there is no negative marking
Since all questions are mandatory and there's no penalty for wrong answers, leaving any question blank is purely disadvantageous. Make an educated guess if unsure — you can only gain marks, not lose them.
✔ Do This
07
Check the official NFSU website regularly for updates
All information — admit cards, results, date changes, corrigenda — will be published exclusively at www.nfsu.ac.in. NFSU will not send individual intimations by any mode, pre or post examination.
✔ Do This
08
Fill every column of the application form — leave nothing blank
Incomplete applications are summarily rejected. Double-check the entire form before final submission because no changes are allowed after submission under any circumstances.

The Don'ts — 7 Things You Must Avoid
09
Do NOT carry a mobile phone, smart watch, or any electronic device into the exam hall
The brochure is unambiguous: mobile phones, smart watches, calculators, log tables, paper chits, books, and any electronic devices are strictly prohibited. Possession of any of these means your result will not be declared — period.
✗ Never Do This
10
Do NOT register multiple times for the same exam
Multiple registrations from a single candidate will be cancelled and the examination fee forfeited. Also note: separate forms must be filled for FACT and FACT Plus — they are not combined in one registration.
✗ Never Do This
11
Do NOT try to change your exam centre after allotment
The allotted centre is final. No request for a change will be entertained — even if the exam date or city is shifted due to unforeseen circumstances. No TA/DA is provided under any scenario.
✗ Never Do This
12
Do NOT pay the fee via DD, Money Order, or IPO
Only Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI is accepted. Fees paid by any other mode will be summarily rejected. Additionally, fees once paid are non-refundable under any circumstances.
✗ Never Do This
13
Do NOT send physical documents or a printout of your application to NFSU
NFSU does not require — and will not accept — hard copies of the application form or supporting certificates at the time of applying. Everything is handled online. Documents are verified only during actual recruitment.
✗ Never Do This
14
Do NOT attempt any form of canvassing or unfair means
Canvassing in any form will straightaway disqualify you. Using unfair means (possession of banned items, impersonation, etc.) means your result will not be declared. The brochure states this without exception.
✗ Never Do This
15
Do NOT claim OBC benefits using a State Government OBC list
Only the Central Government's OBC list (as published on www.ncbc.nic.in) is valid for fee concession. Candidates covered under OBC but not under Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) must indicate their category as 'General'.
✗ Never Do This
⚠ Items Strictly Banned in the Exam Hall
Mobile phones of any kind
Smart watches or any wearable electronics
Calculators and log tables
Paper chits or any hand-written notes
Books or notebooks
Any other electronic or communication device
Consequence: Possession of any banned item = your result will NOT be declared.
Disqualifiers — 5 Things That Cancel Your Candidature
16
Providing false or misleading information in your application
Your candidature can be cancelled at any stage — including after result declaration — if any submitted information is found to be false, untrue, or misrepresenting. Legal action may also follow. This applies to category claims, educational qualifications, and personal details.

17
Not fulfilling the eligibility criteria — even after appearing in the exam
The mere fact that you were issued an e-Admit Card and allowed to write the exam does not mean your candidature is accepted. NFSU will cancel results if eligibility is found lacking at any point. Final-semester students: your certificate is issued only on completing the degree within the current academic year.
! Disqualifier
18
Claiming OBC/PwD benefits with incorrect or unverifiable certificates
If category-based information is found false before, during, or after the examination, the candidature is cancelled with immediate effect and the issued certificate is declared invalid. An undertaking to this effect is collected from every candidate at registration.
! Disqualifier
19
Attempting the exam at a centre other than the one allotted on your admit card
No candidate will be allowed to appear at an examination centre other than the one allotted to them. Attempting to do so will invalidate your appearance. Carry only the admit card issued by NFSU Delhi Campus (LNJN NICFS).
! Disqualifier
20
Scoring below 50% in either Section A or Section B individually
Even if your overall score crosses 60%, you must individually score 50% or more in each section (Section A and Section B). Both thresholds are mandatory. For SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates, a 5% relaxation applies to qualifying marks.
